  • A good size is at least 2’x3′ and at least 18” high 
  • Make sure the door is no bigger than 6-8 inches wide and raise shelters off the ground to conserve warmth

  • Use straw for bedding and/or insulate inner walls and floor with mylar and/or styrofoam 
  • Avoid wood chips, hay, paper bedding, and blankets
