2022 Black Cat Appreciation Day (August 17th)

  • Black Cat Appreciation Day is a yearly holiday where we can show our love for black cats. It’s also an opportunity to dispel common myths about them and encourage people to adopt a black cat. Some people are superstitious and fear a black cat will bring them bad luck. (We think owning a black cat makes YOU the lucky one!) Really, aren't we just a little more enlightened about that now? In many cultures and regions of the world, black cats are welcomed and celebrated.
  • Celebrate Black Cat Appreciation Day by adopting a black cat or kitten (or two)! Black cats and kittens get less attention from adopters...it's harder for people to pick out a their unique qualities because they look so similar to each other. Don't pass them over. Many of us own black cats and kittens and would agree that they make wonderful pets. We will be happy to share all the positive points about the mini-panthers we have up for adoption!
  • Find many of our adoptable cats and kittens here, including the ultracool black ones:

2022 National Adoption Week - PetSmart Charities

During National Adoption Week (July 11-17 2022), potential pet parents will have the chance to interact with adoptable pets from animal welfare organizations facilitated by PetSmart Charities at local PetSmart stores. Visitors will have the chance to spend time with animals, including cats, kittens, dogs, puppies and various small pets in a safe and spacious area. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to help potential adopters learn more about the pets they are interested in and ensure they feel confident in caring for them.

Cats & Cars

The Community Cat Companions organization would like to thank everyone who came out to our Cats & Cars Adoption event at Adventure Subaru in Painesville on June 4th. We had a bunch of applications and a handful of adoptions. We also raised money and collected a lot of kitten shower wish list items.

Meow-Ma-Mia

The Community Cat Companions organization would like to thank everyone who came out to our Meow-Ma-Mia Spring event and supported us in our mission. We hope you enjoyed the food, beverages, games and prizes. The event is one of our biggest fundraising events that allows us to continue our mission of trapping, neutering and returning feral cats to the wild. (ie. controlling the feral cat population) Our next event is a Spring Kitten Shower and Adoption Event at Adventure Subaru in Painesville. Come out and see the kittens that we have for adoption and keep supporting the cause.
