ADOPTION INITIATIVE

Community Cat Companions has kittens for adoption through our collaboration with our PetSmart store in Willoughby Ohio. Cute kittens are a byproduct of our work in TNR.

Community Cat Companions, Inc. is a Trap-Neuter-Return organization, servicing Lake and Ashtabula Counties. In a typical year, our organization traps and sterilizes between 800 and 900 cats and kittens. Whenever possible, we remove and place any kittens and friendly strays that we encounter in our trapping efforts.

In 2018 we became PetSmart Charities Adoption Partners. We occupy space in the Adoption Center of our partner store in Willoughby and host weekly adoption events as well. Through the generosity of PetSmart Charities, we are able to fund this program. This program allows us to place cats and kittens into loving homes and to reduce the number remaining in colonies throughout Lake and Ashtabula Counties.

Adoption Policy

All interested parties must submit an application prior to being considered as a prospective adoptive parent.

Applicants will be interviewed and will be required to supply personal and veterinary references. This screening process helps us to match our cats and kittens with the best possible adoptive home…making for a happier pet and a happier owner!

Many of our cats and kittens can be seen at PetSmart in Willoughby during the week and at our weekend adoption events in Willoughby. All of our animals are not in the store at any given time. Contact us if you have questions or are interested in a particular animal, so we can arrange for a meeting.

If you fill out an application in-store at PetSmart, with rare exceptions, you will not be able to take one of our cats home that same day. (Refer back to Screening Process.)

We require a signed Adoption Contract and an adoption fee, which ranges between $85-$125. A discount is available if you adopt more than one.

Cats are better in pairs, after all!
